How to play with a Ps3 Controller

I was bored the other day and decided what it'll be like to play runescape with a ps3 controller.  Well I found out how.

Download Motioninjoy here

Motioninjoy will get your ps3 controller synced with your computer.

Just go to driver manager and click on the check box for your controller, then click load driver.  After that go to "profiles" tab and click on the ps3 mode and then click enable.

After that...

Go to here to download joytokey

This gives you the options of what you want the controller to do.

You can have it do anything a mouse and keyboard do.

Beware - ps3 controllers don't work 100% of the time, xbox controller would be better, but i do not have one at this time.

*disclaimer - I take no responsibility if something goes wrong, this is your own experiment*

Hope you like it!

How to flip Guide

Flipping is word used to describe buying low and selling high.

Using the Grand Exchange there are a few things you need to know

  • The items you buy aren't from Jagex, they are from other players.
  • When coinshare they go on to the GE at mid price
  • It goes from oldest offer to newest offer

Say You have 1 million gp.  You want to flip whips, so the firs thing you do is -

go to whips -> click on whip -> +5% offer -> write down what you paid for it -> sell for 1 gp under that -> buy another whip for 2k to -5% (of mid) -> sell whip for 2k or +5% (of mid).

Understand?  Well if you don't, i'll give you an example.

In this example we are going to say that whips are 500k gp...

  1. buy whip for 525k
  2. you get 25k + whip back
  3. sell whip for 499,999 gp
  4. if its pretty much instantly than you'll be good (if it's not lower the price a little)

Now.

  1. Buy whips for 490k each (9...because the limit of whips are 10 every 4 hours...will discuss in a bit)x
  2. once bought
  3. put whips back on for 505k
  4. repeat (remember to check every time before you flip so you don't lose money)

The GE has limits are how many you can buy of a certain items, whips have a limit of 10.  So that after you buy your first whip, the timer starts.

bought 1 whip (0:00:00)
sold 1 whip (0:00:10)
bought 4 whips (3:15:00)
bought 10 whips (4:05:00)

If you don't understand please let me know, so I can see if I can fix this.

Different items have different margins, so just remember before you buy, make sure you know the buying amount.

This is my way of flipping, I'm not a expert flipper, but I haven't lost money off of it yet.
If you have any suggestions please let me know.

King Black Dragon Guide

The king black dragon is the easiest boss in the game.

Level:  276
Weakness: Stab and Ranging
hits:  It can hit in Mage and melee and possible to freeze and/or poison you.

My recommended set up (what I use or need to get)

Skills:

The higher your skills the more kills you can get more trip.

Attack:  90+
Strength: 90+
Defense: 80+
Magic: Higher the less you'll get hit by his mage attacks
Summoning: 52+, 88 is even better
Prayer: 43+

Melee:

Helm:  Slayer mask (if on slayer task) - verac helm
Neck: fury - glory - power - strength
Top:  armadyl - karil - Royal - black dragon
Legging: armadyl - karils - Royal - black dragon
Shield: dragonfire shield - anti fire shield
Weapon:  Rapier - cls - vine whip
boots:  dragon - bandos
Gloves: Barrow (from rfd) -  black dragon
Ring: Berserker ring - warrior ring - ring of wealth - ring of life

Inventory:

teletab
2 super attack + 2 super strength
1 anti poison
2 anti fire potion
5-6 Prayer potions

Go to Edgeville; make sure you are stocked up and ready to go, then go to the canoe and make a waka canoe.  Make a waka canoe and go to the farthest part possible (wilderness).

Once you are in the Wild, head West pass the green dragons until you get to a cage of greater demons, go into the cage and go down the ladder.  You will be in a room of spiders (they can poison you).  take a dose of antifire and super set and pull the lever, you will be in in the room of the King Black Dragon.

Make sure you are potted up the whole time and just collect the loot.  The only way It'll attack when you are meleeing is melee and magic.  KBD can freeze you for a few seconds and it can poison you, so eat while you are frozen and use anti-poison when you are poison.   You should have protect from melee on the whole time you are killing it.

I hope this helps!

Cooking Guide

Welcome to the Cooking guide.  Here i'll tell you bests the best to cook for the given situation.

So you want to get 99 cooking, the questions you are thinking:  What is the best thing to cook?  how much will it cost? how long will it take?

I'll try to answer your questions as best as i can, Enjoy.

For the Non-members cooking table go to here.
Non-members:

Level 1-20:

Start off with sardine, buy around 1k sardines (unless you can't afford this much).  Cook them until you reach level 15.

Level 20-30:

Now that you have the basic understanding of cooking, it really doesn't change much from here.  Since you gained level 30 cooking, start cooking trout.  Buy in GE, cook in lumbridge or on a open fire.

Level 30-40:

At this level go from trout to salmon, keep repeating this until level 60.

Level 40-60:

Cook tuna, i would recommend this because you'll burn a lot less, if any at all.

Level 60-85:

Cook lobsters, they give good experience and you can either make a little profit or loss maybe one or 2 coins per.

Level 85-99:

Cook swordfish, you shouldn't burn much if any.

Congrats, you are now a master in Cooking.

For the Members cooking table go here.
Members:
Cook at the rouges den (underneath the bar in taverley, by warriors guild.

Level 1-20:

Start off with sardine, buy around 1k sardines (unless you can't afford this much). Cook them until you reach level 15.

Level 20-35:

Cook mackerel all the way.

Level 35-50:

Then start cooking sweetcorn or cod.

Level 50-76:

Cook bass until you can get to level 76 cooking.  At 76  you will stop burning lobsters.

Level 76-92:

Cook lobsters, doing the same thing, buying raw, cook, sell. Repeat.

Level 92-99:

Cook sharks until you reach the master in cooking.  Go to the cooking guild to get your cape (need 99k)

Money Making Guide

This is the section to know some of the money making tips in Runescape.  I'll divide it between non-members and members.

Non Members:

Cow hides:  You can start cowhides pretty much as soon as you possibly can.  Just go across the bridge then head north.  Go into the gate that has all of the cows and just keep killing them until you have a full load of cowhides and I would grab the bones and coins you can get also.

Chicken killing:  Pretty much the same idea as the cowhides, but feathers stack, so you could stay there until you have as many as possible.

Lesser Demons:  I would recommend to have at least 40 fishing, 40 cooking, and 50+ combat skills.  Use your best amours and weapons.

Go to karajama (will need 30 coins), then chop both of the trees at the beginning, if you have high cooking (86+) just cut one.  Afterwards, go to the fishing docks and begin fishing lobsters until you have a full inventory, then cook them.  Next, go to the volcano and go down the rope, you will see some skeletons just pass them, if you have finished dragon slayer quest, then go to the hidden door you previously have went through and start killing the lesser demons there (before the dragon).  Once you are full or have no food left, go to the general store and sell the loot you receive (or you can high alchemy it), go chop a log, and go visit the dock again until you are full again.  This is a loot cycle, just rinse and repeat.

Members:

Flax: Members head on down to catherby (south of cammy) and start picking flax.  If you want to you can turn the flax into bowstring by spinning it with the correct crafting level. Lumbridge castle 2nd floor has a spinning table that's pretty close to bank (which is in the 3rd floor).

Molten glass: Grab a bucket of sand and soda ash and go to a furnace, depending on GE prices you can make pretty good amount of cash doing this.  Around 1k molten glass per hour.

Cannonballs: Stats needed: 35 smithing. Recommended (enough to buy 1k steel bars).  Completed easy varrock tasks Needed!  Buy 1k steel bars, and begin making cannonballs with the cannonball mould (finish dwarf cannon quest). around 150k per hour.

Gold Bracelets:  All you need is gold bars and 7 crafting.  Each gold bracelet made is about double the cost of gold bar you used.  Repeat until you have as much money as you want.

Fishing Rocktails:  Need: 90 fishing, living rock bait, and fishing rod.  Go down to the living rock cavern mentioned in the Fishing guide. You can make around 250k+ per hour here.

Slayer:  Doing slayer can give you plenty of cash.  It really depends on the drops, but the higher your level in Slayer is, the better/more rewards you'll get.  range from 1gp+

I will be adding more soon.

Non-Member Combat Guide

Introduction: Starting off combat without prior knowledge of the game can be a scary thought. So I'll try to make it a little less scary for you. First before we start, what are the reason you want to gain combat levels? Most want to so they can fight bosses, such as: god war dungeon, corporal beast, or king black dragon. While others may just want to Player kill (PK). I like to train combat for the skills plus the drops.

Non-Members:

Getting starting can be rough, you need armour and a sword.  It's a good idea to keep melee levels about the same, unless you want a pure, which I'm not going to go into.  A good monster to start off with since you don't have any weapons is chickens or cows.  First train strength to 5, then attack to 10, then with the feathers or cowhides you will be collecting you will have enough money for a sword and armour.  Go back to killing these until you get about 20 defence, 30-40 attack, 30-40 strength.
Head on to edgeville dungeon (south of edgeville bank)  Climb down the stairs and go all the way to hobgoblins, then you'll see some zombies, go get the key in there.  KEEP THE KEY, the key is how you can get down there faster.  If you have enough food, go kill hill giants, while collecting bones to buy better armour.  After a load, go up the ladder, then go to the GE, its not too far away, so you can make very fast bank trips. Do this until you have 40 attack, 40 defence, 50 strength.

Now that you have at least 40 attack, 40 defence, and 50 strength, you will be ready to fight lesser demons (after dragon slayer quest).  These are the best non-member monsters to kill for experience, because you can stay on the island forever as long as you have level 40 fishing and level 40 cooking (visit Fishing and Cooking guides for guidance).  At least time, you should have Rune armour(full helm), a Rune weapon (preferably scimitar or longsword). level 40 attack, defence, and level 50 strength, you do not have to have it but 40 fishing and cooking is recommended. Keep killing lessars until you gain 99's.

There isn't really much different for melee in F2P.  You could add some mage and range in to fight alongside the melee for added damages.

Crafting Guide

Non-members quickest way:

Non-members don't have too much of a choice upon the Crafting skill.  To start you need some soft leather, thread, and a needle. You can get soft leather by killing cows and tanning the cowhides. Per inventory you will need at least one needle, as much thread as you have, and 26 soft leather. Click on the needle then to cowhides and push "leather gloves" You will begin crafting all 26 leather gloves. You can do this until you have the right level to make the higher level leather ( don't make studded or hard leather).

Once you reach level 20 (at least)  Sell all of the leather gloves you have made, and buy as many UNCUT sapphires as you can.  Cutting sapphires only requires a chisel.  I wouldn't recommend this method unless you have over 50m cash.  its very expensive, but very fast. (one of the fastest methods in crafting.)

To see how much money it'll take for level 99, use this:  Uncut gem price MINUS Cut gem's price DIVIDED by experience per gem (50 for sapphire) TIMES Experience left to 99.

* Uncut  ** Cut

*-** / 50 x exp to 99 (sapphire)

To figure out other gems, just replace the "50" with how much exp it gives.

Non-Member's Cheapest way:

Coming soon.

Member's quickest way:

Do leather until Green dragon hide body (level 63 Crafting).  Do green until blue, blue until red, red until Black. To make a dragon hide body you need a needle, thread, and Dragon leather. Have at least 1 needle, a lot of thread, and 26 dragon leather.  Each Body will use up 3 leather per body, which will make eight bodies per load.  This is Top three ways to get crafting up, its VERY EXPENSIVE.  To cut down the cost, go to "stealing creation mini game" and play games to get the "clay needle" this will double the experience per hide.  Can range from 100k exp to 600k exp an hour.

To figure the cost to 99 do:

* Dragon leather  ** D'hide body

Dragon Leather TIMES 3 MINUS D'hide body DIVIDED by EXP per D'hide TIMES EXP to 99.
* x 3 - ** / 186  x exp to 99 (Green D'hide body)
* x 3 - ** / 210  x exp to 99 (Blue D'hide body)
* x 3 - ** / 234  x exp to 99 (Red D'hide body)
* x 3 - ** / 258  x exp to 99 (Black D'hide body)

Members Cheapest way:

Items needed: molten glass and glassblowing pipe.
Once you have level 48 Crafting, you can begin crafting unpowered orbs.  They are about 50k xp per hour and will cost you a few gp per xp.

Items needed: Bracelet mould and gold bars.
2nd best way:  Buy gold bars, then make gold bracelets from level 7-99. This method is very slow, but you'll pretty much double your money.

Go back.
